Sponsorships with Linger Magazine

Linger Magazine is proud to sponsor the introduction of The Terrell Avery Tate Memorial Scholarship Fund that honors the loving memory of a man that loved his family, friends and the City of Boston equally. Terrell died of Lymphoma at the age of 35 on April 18, 2003.

The mission of the scholarship was brought to fruition by his sister, Tiffany, to aid in the growth of minority male enrollment at institutions of higher education. "There are just so few minority males seen on campuses around the country," she stated. "The same way that my brother looked out for me and so many of my younger cousins while we were growing up, I want continue his guidance by aiding in keeping our young men in college."

Born and raised in Boston, Terrell was educated in the Boston Public School System. He was very humorous and always had a joke or funny story to share. He was a devoted son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend who cherished the arts. He was a great artist and could sketch anything by eye. He loved music and was a self-taught DJ. His wisdom was uncanny and he had a no-nonsense approach to life's lessons. He provided much comic relief to those around him. His absence is truly missed.
